Fax Question Please

Bob Newman

I realize this is off-tpoic but I didn't know where else to put it.

If you have internet service via your cable company can you still send a fax
from your computer since it is not hooked up to a telephone line?

Thanks in advance... Bob

Not over a cable/ASDL line. You need a dial-up connection for fax. There are
also some internet-based faxing services I believe.

Assuming that you still have a 56k analogue modem installed in your system,
you can hook it up to the telephone line and fax through it..

If you have the appropriate filter for your DSL line, you can run a fax from
it supposing you have the supported Fax software to send it.
