My 2 cents is, there should be a remedial help file that ships with
the product. It should cover every keyword that exists on the menus
such that when I need help on "tags", for example, the first thing I
get is a basic paragraph on what tags are and where to find that
feature in the menus. When I search for tags, what I get now is 11
choices, and none of them seem like they will quickly give me a
simple answer as to what tags do and how to use them. Help for
Microsoft development products are even more difficult to use given
the range of complexities and topics that comprise development.
So I guess the first thing I would do is to make sure every help
system covers the basics of help:
What is X?
Where is X?
"How do I start?" Or, "How do most people use this product?"
And then cover the other topics on line:
How do I do X?
Can I X?
Should I X?
In the mean time, One Note Team, keep up the good work -- it's a
great app.
Oh, BTW I don't need help on tags; but I was looking for help on
scanning into ON. I'm able to do it, I just want to know what the
various options are for... for example why can't I change the
resolution? How come I can't use "Insert" it's grayed out. It only
lets me use custom insert. I suppose I can find out what the Clip
organizer is, but then again, maybe not!
Now that I think of it, I think I'll make a feature request!
