Feature Request: One form for Form Service and Full IP Client

B

Bob C.

I'd like to be able to develop one form that can contain Full IP Client
features in one view, and Forms Service features in another view, and be able
to publish the form for use in the full client if available, or use the
limited view for Forms Service use.

This should be straight forward once you can detect what client is opening
it. You can have a rule in open that could switch views for you.

Actually I think that in browser based forms it may have to open in the
default view. I would try setting up an open rule that switches to your full
client view and then have your browser view be the default and see what you
get.

To clarify, you cannot create one form that is Browser Enabled if it contains
features that are not browser compatible. I'd like to create a single form
with any feature that forms services would present only views that are
limited to browser only features.

You cannot open a form in the browser if it contains IP only features.

Yah you are right, I forgot that it won't even allow the form to be published.

Well I think you would have to have two version of the form then.

What I would suggest is a backend database that each form version would use
and then they would be in sync with each other since they would use the same
data.
I have done similar solutions using the Database Accelerator.

You could have one form link to the other but I do not think that that is
browser compatible either so I do not see a way to use one form for both if
you need IP only controls.
