Features comparison ---EPM products.

Hi,

My current project is to evaluate Project Portfolio Management software
applications. After reading few articles about Project Server and Project
Portfolio Server, I got the sense that there is heavy overlap. Is there a
matrix that compares the two feature for feature? Also, I realize that
Sharepoint and MS Project professional are critical pieces to this puzzle and
it will best if they are included in the comparison.

Thanks,

Nick

There is not really all that much overlap.
Portfolio server is strongest in approval workflows, project prioritization
and selection, portfolio management. Project Server is really mostly
targetted for project management. Project server requires use of Project Pro
and Sharepoint. I do not think that a feature by feature comparison is very
useful. All EPM tools are highly dependent on configuration, business
processes and implementation. The features listed on the box are not that
meaningful without understanding what organization and processes that the
tool is going to support.
