Features that seem to be missing from OneNote

It may be that these features are there, but I don't know about them.

I'm using OneNote 2003 SP2 on a desktop and on a laptop. I'm using it to
keep notes about a variety of projects I'm working on. While I like it, and
will keep using it, there are some changes that would improve its usability
(for me) by an order of magnitude.

1. I'd like to be able to do paragraph formatting within on of those note
blocks. Center a title for example.

2. I'd like to be able to paste a PDF into a portion of one of my pages --
not just a link. I often have scanned notes in PDF format that go along with
a project.

3. I'd like to be able to draw lines. Specifically so I can throw in an
ad-hoc flow chart of the project I'm working on.

4. I'd like to able to paste something from Powerpoint or from Visio into a
page.

5. I'd like to have a hypelink attached to a picture, or an icon. For
example I'd like to have a small flow of the project with Excel Icons or Word
Icons representing content. Then, I'd like to be able to reach them by
clicking on the Icon.

6. Alternatively, I'd like to paste a file with an Icon represenation of
it, whether it's a link or whether the content is attached to OneNote.
Imagine a .msg file or .xls etc. The Icon should be able to look like the
standard Icon for that file type. Clicking on it should open the file.

7. When I inadvertantly merge two blocks, I'd like to be able to easily
separate them once I've gone too far for an undo to work well. Yes, I can
cut and paste, but I'm looking for something like splitting up a table.

8. I'd like to able to put 2 lines in the name on a tab.

I'm sure there's much more, but these are things that have bothered me
recently.

All,
I agree with the high value of many of these requests. I already own OneNote
but am now using the Forum to evaluate the wisdom of a complete shift to its
use as a hub for teaching. (Elementary) The PDF and PowerPoint inclusion seem
a no-brainer, as OneNote is meant to be (it seems) an assembler of
information -- info seen in a new form or combination that makes the info
more useful. It also seems that the role the interface was designed to play
was "Make that info more visual" with web pages, etc. Links don't advance
that vision.

Spo I hope that there is either
1. a way to do some of these things now,
or
2. they will come very soon.

I have been bummed out to read that some of this will not be available until
mid-winter 2006-2007 partly because that is in the middle of the school year
when I usually cannot add new processes.

So- is there a way to dispaly and store a PDF right inside OneNote's
structure? I have been reading OneNote aftermarket documentation to learn
more but the info so far has been too basic in the books I can get in my
libraries here in Hawaii.
