Ffile in use message when I double-click it in Windows Explorer.

Dave

If I open Word and use File-->Open to open the file, it
open without any messages. When I double-click on the
same file in Windows Explorer I get a "...is being used
by... Do you want to make a copy?" message. How can I
prevent this from happening? Or what causes this?

The same problem occurs whether or not the folder
containing the file is set to Read Only. It alsor occurs
using Start-->Run.

Please help,
DBM
