field codes and printing

I have a problem with field codes and printing:

When I insert a page number, for instance, in a word document, I do
see the numbers (1 for page 1, 2 for page2, etc) but when I go in
print preview, I only see { PAGE }.

I then press on ALT + F9. I then see the numbers (1, 2, 3, etc) in the
print preview also. When I print, it is { PAGE } that is printed.

What is wrong? What should I do?

I also uninstalled and then reinstalled microsoft office, but no
success.

Hi, Karim,

In Tools > Options > Print, uncheck the box for "Field codes" in the
"Include with document" section.

This is independent of the "Field codes" option on the View tab of the
dialog, which is what Alt+F9 toggles.
