field codes in word

All my images, page numbers, website addresses and endnote citations appear
in my doucment as field codes and I need to toggle the field codes. How do I
make them appear as text or images as soon as I put them in?

Press Alt+F9 to toggle off display of field codes. Word should retain this
setting until you change it.
