Field codes (page number, date, ref...) keep appearing! AHH~~

Hi,

I am typing my thesis but one day when I opened one of my chapter the
reference # (using Endnote), page number, date all turns to field codes! I
can switch them back to normal using shift+F9 but after I made some changes
it switches back!

From the print preview it seems fine though, but then I can't do much
editting. Please help!

The Shift+F9 shortcut only changes one field code at a time. Use the
Alt+F9 shortcut (or the Field Codes item in Tools > Options > View) to
toggle all of them at once.

Thanks! but I am very curious: why that happened all of a sudden? I never had
this problem before... '_'

I don't know, but I can guess: you might have pressed Alt+F9 when you
thought you were pressing some other combination, but you didn't
notice at the time. That setting stays in effect until you press the
Alt+F9 again (it's a toggle).
