Field contents seem corrupted

The query behind your report might be using phrases like "GROUP BY" or
"DISTINCT". These will truncate your fields to 255 characters. The other
source of this could be a value in the Format property of your text boxes.

I have a report with a field that shows only the first 5-10 lines of text,
while i can see the whole text either on the table or on the form. The field
automatically expands (if necessary) although it is larger than necessary
(but smaller than the A4 page size)

WHY is that happening?
