field in the data behind the report(query) but not in grouping box

I am trying to group by a field called comments. It shows up on the FIELD
list for the report but when I am in the sorting and grouping
window(dropdown) the comments field is not showing up - I am sure it is
probably something easy but I can't figure it out.

If it is a memo field, I don't think you can do it.
Chances of there being duplicate comments are pretty slim anyway.
