field-level change report

Is there any way that I can see a list/report of all the contacts that were
edited on a certain day including what fields were changed? I know I can
see the modified field for every contact but I need the extra detail that
tells me exactly which fields were changed, even if subsequent edits appear
as individual entries on the report/view. Is this only possible by writing
some code or is it even possible at all?

You would have to write code to implement tracking down to that level of
detail. All Outlook itself tracks is the last date/time the item was
modified.
