Hi, my question relates to field shading and this is the
only Word NG I see that relates to the use of fields. So
maybe someone can help...
I have a document that I work on all the time. A manual
with a table of contents, some date fields, picture
caption fields, etc. When you click any of the fields, a
gray shading appears around the field item. Fine, as
expected. I do want the shading to appear ONLY when
selected. So in Tools->Options->View I chose "When
Selected" in the drop down next to "Field Shading". Save
and close word.
I open word up the next day, open the document and ALL
fields have gray shading around them. When I go back into
the check box in Tools->Options, it has changed
to "Always" instead of "When selected".
Any thoughts as to why this keeps changing on me?
