Field Size Recommendations for Fractions

I'm having a problem with the field definitions for a
field. This field will store the power requirement for a
piece of equipment in Kilowatts (kW). Most of these
values are fractions (0,005 or 0,5 and so on).

I set the field size to decimal, but every time I type in
a value, it rounds it into an integer, and removes the
decimal point - whether I use the period or (as I'm in
Europe), use the comma to separate the whole number from
the fraction.

Can I sill use a number type for this field, or do I
resort to text. I need to calculate power requirements
for departments based on this data, and would hope to use
a numeric value.

Any suggestions?

Wierd, yes. Wonderful?

Thanks for the tip - I've changed the Field Size to
Single, the Format to Fixed, and have allowed 5 decimal
places for the data. I was able to update the values in
the table from another set of records and didn't have
problems with it rounding the numbers up.

If there are any pitfalls with the variables I've
selected, a heads-up would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Scott
