Fields and groups locked

We have a form that I have been modifying. Within the last few days, I have
noticed that all groups and fields in the data source are locked ... I can't
make any changes.
1) Does anyone know what I did wrong?
2) Does anyone know how to unlock the fields/groups?
3) If worse came to worse, could the schema be changed to allow changes?

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I have the same problem (and
this isn't my first InfoPath document).

You didn't do anything wrong, but InfoPath locks schemas created from
databases, web services, and imported schemas. We can't guarantee that we
can make the right changes without breaking something.

You'll have to modify the original schema (or database/web serivce), and use
Tools->Change Main Data Source to update the schema.
