Fields appearing under certain conditions...?

Hello,

I am wondering if it is at all possible to make an Infopath form display a
"hidden" field once another fields condition is met.

For example I have a check box next to a "mobile phone" field. If someone
checks this box, I would like another field to appear to enter the mobile
number but if the user does NOT check the check box, then the field to enter
the number does not appear.

I hope this is clear - any ideas?

Hi Dave

You can do so using Conditional formatting.
Follow these steps

Double click on the field you would like to hide to open the properties
Click on Display tab and click on Conditional formatting
In the Conditional Format window, select Check box field from the 1st drop
down and is equal to from 2nd drop down
Then apply Hide this control.
Open the check box properties and select Blank in the "Value when cleared"
drop down.

I hope this helps you

Thanks Kalyan,

If there is text next to the field, is it possible to also make this hide
until a specific selection is made in the drop down list?
Also - it looks as though you can't hide date picker fields? Is this true?

Hi Dave,

You can disable the check box but not hide. But there is a work around for
the text beside the field and also for check box to be hided. You can put
these check boxes and fields with text beside them in a section and can then
put condition on this section to be hidden till your conditions meet.

I hope this helps you.

Thanks. That works well. The only problem is that the fields disappear but
the gap between the text doesn't.

i.e. you can still see there is something missing.
