Fields in templates

I have created a template that has the same fields appear in a couple of
places. Is there a way to make one field automatically show what I put into
the other field of the same name? For example, the name of the person the
letter is addressed to shows up in the address and the salutation. It'd be
nice if the salutation field filled in automatically when I typed the name in
the address.
