Fields that are not there

I am using Access 2000
I created a main Db a while back, with let's say 20 different fields.
Now I want to change the Db by eliminating 3 of the fields. At first I got
a message that to delete the fields I have to delete the relationship. So I
went into tools, relationships, and see my Db listed but do not see any other
Db with it and especially not one that is joined to my main Db. So I deleted
the main Db from the relationship window. I do not know if this really did
anything, but I eventually was able to delete the fields from my Db design
window. But while in the design window, I go to the Dbase Sheet View and the
deleted fields are still there. Why??? They are not on the design sheet but
in the Db Sheet View. What can I do to get rid of these fields?

Thank you for any help you can give me - Aurora

Deleting a table from the Relationships window does nothing more than make
it not show in that window.

On the toolbar (or Relationships menu), there is a button for Show All. That
might help identify which relationships your table is involved in.

If the fields did not delete, it would seem that your attempt to delete them
from the table design view did not save. That makes sense if the fields are
involved in relationships.
