Fields with Formulas?

I am a little confused about using the field formulas. I
have created two custom properties under the
file>Properties>custom

i.e. DOCPROPERTY Decimal1
DOCPROPERTY Decimal2

I wish to multiply them together in a formula and display
the result as a field what is the correct syntax?

Thanks Doug finally got it working. At first I didn't
realise that the brackets had to be created with CTRL-F9.
