Figure Numbering

Using Word 2000. I have multiple figures and the first
figure in the document is captioned as Figure 11. How can
I convince Word that it should be Figure 1? Since all the
figures are correctly numbered consecutively after that I
hope that whatever needs to be done will cause the
following figures to renumber correctly too.
