I am running Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business on Windows Advanced
Server 2000. When I attempt to click on a Word or Excel Document from
within Windows Explorer or on the Desktop, I get the following
message:
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing
this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control
panel."
However, when I attempt to open the documents from within Excel or
Word, they open just fine. I checked in the Folder Options control
panel and the .doc and .xls extensions are associated with Word and
Excel respectively. I even tried doing the repair and reinstallation
of Office, but to no avail.
From searching the other posts on this topic, the recommended solution
appears to be reinstallation of the product (which I did), but that
doesn't solve the problem.
Ideas? Any KB articles which at least acknowledges this prob?
