Can anyone help me? I recently removed several word
documents from my hard drive to a CD and later I saved them
back to my hard drive.
I update these documents quite often. Each time I resave
with the new changes word automatically creates a 1KB
backup file renamed with the fist letter of the document
changed to "~". Sometimes it creates a WRL...tmp file too.
To clean things up I am continually having to delete these.
It is really annoying.
I am a relatively experienced user and have never had this
happen with word before and am not sure how to stop it.
When I resaved them to the hard drive, I noticed that they
had been saved as an archived file in the properties menu,
I disabled this thinking that that may be the problem. But
it still contiues.
The only thing different than past use of word is removing
them to CD and then resaving them back to the hard drive.
I don't understand why this would make a difference though.
I would appreciate any advice that someone might have.
Please email if not to inconvenient.
Thanks.
