I know that this may be a printer issue, but I wanted to start here in
case anyone has any advice for me or has ever seen anything like this
before, so here goes:
I have a pretty hefty PPT file that prints without issue from PPT
10.1.5, but causes an printer error when printed from PPT 11.2. It's
darnedest thing... In fact, it crashes two different printers. I've
tried isolating it by printing over the LAN via ethernet and Airport,
setup the printer as both AppleTalk and LPD, tried from multiple
computers and multiple users and have even connected one of my
computers directly to the printer via ethernet.
I'm going to try again after updating to 11.2.3 to see if that helps.
If any of you are familiar with the HP printers, these are "49" errors,
which HP's site identifies as communication errors. We also have a
black and white HP 1200N printer that prints the document flawlessly
regardless of app version. This has happened on other documents before,
but we've been ignoring the problem since we've been able to print from
the older PPT. Has anyone seen anything like this before?
OS: 10.3.9
Printers: HP Color LaserJet 4500N, 4550N
