File combining...

I have a book as a word file. I have the same book in a differnt
language as a word file. Is there a way to combine the 2 files into one
word file with 2 columns, one language in each?

Hi Taylor,

I hope you've already got this question answered (and I would love to
hear what the workaround was).

The only method I could come up with was to create a new blank document
and insert a TABLE with 2 columns, 1 row. Then I would open Book #1,
select all and copy/paste it into the first column of my new table. I
would then open Book #2 and copy/paste it into the second column of my
new table. This way, you can edit both sides independently and the
text in each will remain in its own column. (The table will expand
automatically to fit your text). You could also remove/change the
appearance of the borders of the table if you didn't like the way they
looked on paper.

I'm curious to see how you made out. What a great question and one
that I may need to deal with one day very soon as well!

Best wishes,
Karen

Thanks for the help... So far, this is the ONLY way I've found to do
what I want... It seems to work nicely (for certain values of the word
'nicely')

Thanks,
Taylor
