This file contains repairs made to it by word. Saving the
file will make it permanent. Show repairs. Office xp, lots
of disk space, just started happening. Should I back up
in time or is something else going on?

Close the file without saving changes or use Save As to close the file. Go
to File Open. If it gives the file type as "Recover text..." change it to
Word document.

I think fast save has been turned on somehow. I'm going
to check tonight. My wife does Med Transcription and has
been bugging me about this prob for the last week. Thanks
again.
