File DMEODMA.xla not found...

Lyndon

Hi guys,

When I try and open a file in Excel, using File -> Open, I get the
following message...

"The file DMEODMA.xla not found."

The open file dialogue does not appear so I can't open a file.

Strangely though, if I click the "open" button on the toolbar the open
dialogue comes up okay and I can open a file.

Also, if I open an Excel file by double clicking on it in Windows
Explorer, Excel opens okay and so does the file.

This is not really stopping me from working as I can open files by
clicking on the "open" button on the toolbar but it is bugging me and I
was wondering if someone could help me out. A google search on
"DMEODMA" yielded nothing..!

Thanks in advance.

Lyndon.

DMEODMA.xla missing file sounds like an add-in trying to load and not being
found...............go to Tools > Add-ins > and look for DMEODMA and
un-check it...........

Thanks for replying. I've already gone through the Add-Ins and
un-checked them all, closed Excel and restarted, but this does not
solve the problem.

I've run "Excel.exe / RegServer" and this hasn't helped either.

Any other suggestions..?

Maybe check your Startup Directory to see if it's there..........

Lyndon,
I had exactly the same problem as you after removing 80-20 Document
Manager from my system.
I followed Chip Pearson's advice regarding *'Start Up Errors in Excel'
* and found that step (3) Start Excel without customized toolbars and
menus fixed my problem.

In case you don't have it, the URL to this site is: -

Hope this works for you also.

Regards,
Obejohn
:)
