File <filename> is not available

I have the following message whenever I am trying to open
any file in Word XP: "The file <filename> is not
available"

I copied the file to another pc and Word is able to open
the file no problem... how come I have that on one pc
only... what is the solution? And with that everytime I
quit word it asks me to save the normal.dot template?
why? it never done that!
