We often email documents to other users directly from the document, using the
send as email command. As sender the Outlook email shows the complete file
name and proper extension. Unfortunately, the reciepient does not get the
same treatment. The file comes across with name truncated and the file type
not shown. Then when you open the document you need to choose the proper
application (word or excel for example). If instead of sending from the open
doc we send from outlook direct (that is attach a file) no problem. Why?
