Almost all files I try to open using Excel 2007 generate a dialog indicating
the file is in use, locked and read only. This is an error since I know the
state of these local files. In some cases I can clear the error by closing
and opening again. In others I have to make a copy to do any editing. This
problem did not occur in Excel 2002 but occasionaly in Word 2002. However
with Word I could locate an orphaned temp file and delete it. This technique
doesn't seem to work with Excel.
