file is not available

All of the sudden I have this error in word 2002. The
error occurs when I try to open a previously saved
document. It says "the file somefilename.doc is not
available". Also everytime I close Outlook 2002 or word
2002 it tries to same the Normal.dot file again. Any
ideas? I have uninstalled and reinstalled all the way up
to the most current security patches available.

Hi Steve,

More than likely you also use Norton AV and are encountering a
conflict in Norton's Office Plug-in. In Norton Options go to the
Miscellaneous section and disable the "Office Plug-in" option.
