File location problem

when I open front page, it shows me a tab named "web site" which is located
in C:\User\UserName.Computername\Documents\My Websites.
I don't use the documents folder because all my data is on another hard
drive. I created a new index.htm and saved it on the F drive. At this point,
it is just one page with some graphics and I am trying to publish it.
When I try to publish it, it reverts to the file on C instead of the one on
F.
Can I permanently change the location? How can I make this work for me? Do
it need to give in and use the C drive for location?

Did you create a new website on F:\ and then create the index.htm inside of it.

F:\websitefolder
index.htm would be inside of websitefolder.
You can not simply publish a page, you must have a site open to publish a page.
