File Locking Issues....Help!

We have an Access2000 shared database (split) on a network
server. Users workstations were Win98 but slowly migrating
to W2K. Now that we have a mix of Opsys, we getting
numerous "Cannot Lock File" or "File in use: Admin"
errors. What causes this and how can I eliminate it?

Since users are migrating from Win 98 to W2K, they most likely had only
sharing privileges set. Now that they have Win2K you must now check what the
network settings are to the backend. They must be given read/write/change
privileges, in addition to share permissions. Check both areas for W2K
users.
