file migration... OE6 to Outlook

Hope someone can please help !!
I have recently decided to use MS Outlook instead of Outlook Express. But
experienced problems in using / converting the Email file directory
structure from Outlook Express.
I have tried the most obvious "Import" option in Outlook without any luck...
All the directories are .dbx files
Is there a step I am missing out ??

Is there a system of filing where all the old Email files can be saved as
..txt
files and accessable with MS Word ?
I am using XP Pro / XP Office pro

You can't import from dbx-files. The best way to go is to Export to Outlook
from within Outlook Express.
