file missing from menu bar

I'm missing file from the menu bar, when I open word with
winword /a it works, I tried the registry fix at
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissngMenusEtc.htm but
it didn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try Tools - Customize - Toolbars tab, under Toolbars, click on Menu Bar,
then click the Reset button.
