file not available after installing office2003

I installed office2003 on a machine that already had office 2000. I selected
the "ugrade" option. The installation went fine but now all of the documents
in "My Documents" cannot be opened. When I try, I receive the message " File
is not available". When I try to exit Office, I see the following: "The file
Normal already exists. Do you want to replace it?"
What do I need to do?
