"File not available", unable to open anything.

I'm using Microsoft Word, Office 2007 and am having trouble with opening
files. When I attempt to open a file, old or new, a message comes up saying
"The File ________ is not available." I can't create new files because the
next time I want to access them, I can't. This is a real problem as I have
work for university which I need to do with Word. Is there any settings I
should change or should I reinstall the product? Thanks..

Norton's Office Plug-In can cause this problem. If you're
using NAV, try disabling the Office plug in and see if that eliminates the
problem (but don't turn off a/v protection altogether). For more information

i'm having the same problem but i don't have Norton installed?
