File Not Available

When I try to open a Word .doc file, I get error message:

"The file <<filename>> is not available."

I have opened this same file many, many times using Word.

If I launch WordPad and open the file, it comes up right
away.

What is going on here?

Have a look at the posts to this newsgroup for the 6th. August
2003, there is a post reporting the same problem, under the same
heading. Maybe, hopefully, the answer will work for you also. Good
