I am running Microsoft Office Professional 2003, which includes Excel 2003,
with a Windows XP Pro operating system.
When I close a particular Excel document, it doesn't seem to close
completely. If I edit the document, save it, and close it, when I try to
open it again, I get a message that says the document is in use by another
user (me). In order to open the document, I have to completely turn off my
computer and restart it.
This doesn't appear to occur with every document, but for the one I had
trouble with, I started a fresh document with a different name, did a
Control-A to select the entire page, and I copied all of that into the new
document. Sometimes this has helped in the past if a document is corrupt
somehow, but it didn't help in this case. I am getting the error message for
both documents.
I have checked on the Microsoft site, and I have all the latest updates for
Microsoft Office. Can anyone point me toward a fix?
Thanks.
