file not found in briefcase

I am using Windows XP with all the server packs, etc. I set up a briefcase
on my notebook that connects to our server. I tried to open a few files on
my notebook and I get an error message saying the files cannot be found.
However, I can change those files on the server and update them in the
briefcase!? Also, I am able to open other files. I looked in the Windows
area for similar problems and this discussion group but did not find any!
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not an Office problem but one with your Windows Operating System - suggest you repost to a group that supports your OS.
