How can i get MS Project to automatically use one of the 'group by'
categories when i choose Open from the MS Project Client? We have a 'Status'
enterprise field and want to see that grouping so i get a more comprehensive
list of open projects.

You can't. You will need to apply the Group By manually each time you click
File - Open. Sorry.

Only enterprise Project outline code fields appear on the list. Hope this
helps.
