File Protection

I would like to generate a template for a flow chart and protect it from any
modifications by other users other than changing text within shapes. I know
that you can use the protection options in the format drop down list however
these can be disabled by other users. It is required that all the formating
is protected to meet standards.

Basically if a user can open the file they can edit the file. If the file is
marked as read only changes made to the file will only take place when saved
under a new name. Templates are generally used to setup a base or parameters
for users. In order to prevent users from making any changes to a drawing the
Visio Viewer should be used. Shapes can be created and protection can be
given to different attributes. For example if you place a box on the drawing
page, right click and select Format, Protection a dialog will be displayed
with the possible protection fields for that object.
