file:\\ protocol for hyperlink

I need to especify a network path on my notes using the file:\\ protocol for
hyperlinks. I tried <file:\\server\shared\directory> but OneNote attach the
path to My Notebook (C:\Documents and Settings\...\My Documents\My Notebook\)
at the beginning.

How can I specified a file in the network using the file:\\ protocol?
