File size issues converting 2007 to 2003

When sending files to some clients, I need to save my file created in 2007 as
a 2003 file format. When I do so, the file size blows up. Is there any way
to avoid this issue or at least lessen the effect?

it doesnt help..
i'll give an example,
if i take a PPT file (300kb) and open it with powerpoint 2007 and then save
it as a PPT without changing anything in the slideshow the file's size will
jump to 2mb!

is there a way around this?
