File size & jumping graphics

Go into tools-options-save and disable the allow fast
saves option. This should stop your file getting bigger
and bigger as you work. It's got something to do with the
way word does a fast save compared with a 'proper' save.
As for things jumping about that depends on how the
pictures are inserted are they 'in line with text'
or 'over the text'?. If in line with text then it's caused
by the 2nd inserted picture over-lapping the bottom margin
and so needing its own page, in which case resizing the
image and altering the margins are the only way to stop
it. If it's 'over text' try deselecting 'move object with
text' which you will find by clicking on the advanced
button on the layout tab of the picture formatting box.

Initially when I insert graphics (usually jpeg) into a
document, the file size is ok. After I manipulate it,
chnage it, move it around, etc. the file size increaes
greatly. i've had a 5 meg file increase to 50 megs. When
I copy the file over to a new blank doc, it sometimes goes
back to the original 5 meg size; other times I have to re-
copy just the text and then re-insert the graphics after
which it's usually ok again. Does anybody know what
causes the file size to increase so much when graphics are
involved?
I also have problems with graphics jumping around from
one page to another when I try to place it in a certain
spot. I usually end up reducing it in size, put it where
I want it, then slowly increase the size until it is the
same as what the original one was, but now it won't jump
around. Anybody know what's going on here?
