Trying to find information on file size limitations for
Word 2000 documents. How big is too big?

MaryB,

For Word 2000, per Microsoft:
"The maximum file size is limited to 32 MB for the total document text only
and does not include graphics, regardless of how the graphics image is
inserted (Link to file, Save with document, or Wrapping style) into the
document. Therefore, if the file contains graphics, the maximum file size
can be larger than 32 MB"

Practically speaking, the performance will slow down so much before you get
anywhere near this size that you'll want to break up an extremely long
document into separate documents and use the INCLUDETEXT field to bring
these documents together into a single combined document.

Do not under any circumstances use Word's master document feature. Sooner
or later it leads to corrupt files

The limit for all versions of Word is 32 MB for text only. This doesn't
include graphics. For more, look in Word's Help for "Limits for Word."
