FILE SIZE LIMITS!? IMPORTING FROM OTHER VISIO FILES?

T

tranchiturn

I have 80 11" x 17" pages of schematics that I am thinking about
putting into one file. The file will gradually grow over time but
shouldn't exceed 150 pages. Before I go about doing this and possibly
waisting my time, I want to know if anyone knows of number-of-page or
file-size limits. I've read of 400+ pages, but still, I would like to
find out if a 100 page document will be slow or cumbersome.

Also, could someone please tell me how to import a sheet from one visio
file into another.

Thanks

Hopefully you are using Visio 2003 for this. Visio 2002 is particularly
slow with documents that have many pages, but this problem was corrected in
the latest version.

I'm not aware of any page or file-size limits in Visio. The limiting factor
will be the amount of system memory available. If you work with a very
large document, you increase the likelihood that the drawing will consume
your available memory and begin paging to disk. This slows things down
considerably.

As for importing, Visio does not have a mechanism for copying a drawing page
from one document to another.
