File size shrink?

Is it possible for a .one file's size to shrink as the notes in that file
grows?

I noticed during an online backup that my largest class notes file actually
decreased in size from the last backup where the actual content of the file
increased. I checked the notes --- Nothing has been deleted. How is this
possible? Did the file get automatically compressed?

Thanks.

It's possible, depending on how the file was created and what was done to the
data in the files.

There is an automatic optimization that is done to the files (customizable
in Tools | Options | Open and Save | "Optimizing Section files"). It
essentially "defrags" the contents of the *.ONE file with the intention of
reducing space.

I wouldn't worry about the difference in file sizes as long as the data you
expect in each version is correct and complete and nothing is missing.
