file size

File size in Visio grows as graphics images are added to
my drawing. However, when I erase these images from my
drawing (to where I only have a blank page), the file size
does not decrease. In one example, I have an 8 MB file
for a blank Visio page. Why is this? How can this be
fixed?

seems there is still something else in the file. no extra tabs? sheets?
backgrounds? headers or footers?

Jon,

Try going to the Document Stencil (File > Stencils > Document Stencil) and
deleting the master shapes there. This should help reduce the file size.

Check the stencils opening with the file. If the images
have 'masters' on the stencil, it could be linking them.
Also, check the layers (View/Layer Properties) to see if
you have something non-visible.
