File storage in Project Server 2003

How are files (.doc,.xls,.ppt) stored in Project Sever 2003? Is a directory
structure created with the PWA (WSS) site is created? Are the files
transformed into metadata and saved in the database?

Documents are stored in the database as blobs (binary large objects).

Tim-

I have a VB script that will take a specified doc out of binary and save to
the local hard drive as a .doc file if you need something like that?
