I had One Note 2003 on my machine. Beta One slowed my tablet down to a crawl
so I uninstalled it and went back to 2003. When Beta 2 came around, I
downloaded it and itran greatIt stopped working just the other day. As I
result, I removed Beta 2 and went back to One Note 2003.
My problem is that my file system is all wacked out. Some files that I
originally used in 2003 and then in Beta 1 wouldn't open in Beta 2. I
started new folders in Beta 2 and now they won't open in 2003. I read
somewhere on the site that 2007 isn't backward compatible, but when I open
One Note, I receive a message telling me to go to the One Note site because
there may be a fix that will "convert" the files for me. Does such a thing
exist? Are my original files just gone and I will never be able to search
them again? That would be terrible and defeat the whole purpose of One Note.
That is, having a digital notebook that I will never lose!
Please let me know what, if anything, I can do to use my files. If this
occurs everytime there is an update, I might be better off just using Windowd
Journal for notetaking instead of One Note. I shudder to think about that
because I love ON. Still, I can't be losing my valuable data each time a new
version coming out. That would be like Office 2007 causing the inability to
open Word 2002 documents, for example.
Thanks so much.
